Are the Larson Tree Poles RF friendly?
Plastic composites, which comprise the bulk of the camouflage materials, were
tested for RF insertion loss by Tempest Technical Services of Albuquerque, NM,
an independent testing agency. RF insertion loss varied from .28 dBm to .43
dBm. The industry considers anything less than 1.5 dBm to be invisible.
According to Tempest Technical Services, "maximum insertion loss for (Larson
Camouflage) was very low."
Can a community offer incentives to wireless
carriers to camouflage antennae in their communities?
Yes, and by drafting ordinances specifying the use of camouflaged utilities,
conflicts over the construction of new cell sites have been significantly
reduced. Some communities will waive the public hearing process if a carrier
agrees to conceal the tower in residential areas. This kind of incentive
reduces the time required to gain necessary permits and licenses for system
build-out, while maintaining the aesthetic quality of the community.
Can a Larson Tree Pole withstand extreme weather
conditions?
Based on our field and laboratory tests, the Larson Tree Pole and its limbs can
withstand winds in excess of 100 mph. In addition, the artificial foliage and
bark can withstand temperature extremes from -50° to +180° Fahrenheit
